Captain Claw

Import the extracted game folder to run the original executable. Your files stay on this device.

Claw demo: ClawDemo.exe, CLAWDEMO.REZ and MSS32.DLL.

Start the tested Claw demo

  1. Extract or install your demo first. Do not select the installer or a ZIP.
  2. Choose the folder containing ClawDemo.exe, CLAWDEMO.REZ and MSS32.DLL, or select all three together.
  3. Wait for “Ready to launch”, press Play, then choose Single Player in Claw’s own menu.

The first launch loads the compatibility engine. A blank or partial frame can appear before the original menu; wait for the game screen before pressing controls. Landscape gives the screen more room.

Import errors and recovery
  • Missing a file: select the complete matching demo folder again. A retail REZ file is not a replacement for the demo archive.
  • Invalid executable or REZ header: choose extracted game files, not the download installer or renamed files.
  • Shared memory unavailable: reopen this player from the arcade link in a full browser window. Avoid an embedded browser; the host must provide isolation headers.
  • Storage unavailable: imports can run for this session, but you may need to select them again after closing. Use a regular browser profile with site storage enabled.
  • Stopped or stuck: press Stop, then Play. If needed, reload this page; saved imports should be offered again. Read Diagnostics for the error before removing anything.

Keep your original folder outside the browser. Remove saved files deletes only the imported files; game saves and settings stay in this browser. Clearing site data removes everything and is a reset, not a way to recover a saved checkpoint. Retail compatibility and exact checkpoint recovery are unverified.

The original executable controls the gameplay and available levels. The demo contains two levels. Retail compatibility has not been verified.

Requires a browser that supports shared WebAssembly memory. Claw works best in landscape with a keyboard or the touch controls.
