How these games run

Each game is the creator's original release, unmodified. DOS games run in js-dos, which is DOSBox compiled for the browser, and adventure games run in ScummVM. Nothing is installed and there are no files for you to find or pick. Your saves stay in your own browser.

Why they are free

Most creators released their game as freeware and published the licence; we keep it beside the game, name the creator and keep the game free. A few games have no licence on file, because the publisher closed or the rights are unclear; those are hosted unmodified under our owner-removal policy and are marked as such on their page. If a creator or owner asks us to change or remove a game, they can tell us here.
